Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP)

Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (Also known as “Wrap-Ups”) are implemented by construction development owners looking to gain financial advantage as well as risk management protection during the construction of one or a series of construction projects. 

The OCIP Team at Academic Risk has administered programs, with unmatched success, for numerous owners across the U.S.  With a unique hands-on approach, Academic Risk combines the administration and safety efforts to become a valued member of the Construction team from Project inception to punch list and beyond.

In addition to a seamless administrative effort, Academic Risk provides safety and health program development and monitoring services that identify project risk potential, and implement controls meeting those needs.  Controlling Contractors on our programs are required to submit a site-specific safety and health plan meeting owner requirements.  With the Plan in place, Academic Risk implements our integrated safety and health auditing approach to help ensure program compliance.  As valued members of the owner’s team, our staff has seen great success in providing insight and assistance in minimizing the institutional risk that owners face during construction.
